Members of The Eagle Society of Indian River Medical Center Foundation enjoyed a private screening of the movie Arthur with popcorn and refreshments at the Majestic Theater.

APRIL 3: Literary lovers gathered at the Laura (Riding) Jackson home on the ELC campus for "In a Southerly Light," featuring poets Silvia Curbelo, Michael Hettich and Sean Sexton.

APRIL 6: The 12th annual Blue Ribbon Luncheon – A Spring Sensation, benefiting the Hibiscus Children Center’s programs and services and in honor of National Child Abuse Awareness Month, was held at Oak Harbor Clubhouse.

The United Way honored its Loyal Contributors at an appreciation event at Quail Valley River Club.

Teams and individuals gathered at Riverside Park for Care Net Pregnancy Center of IRC’s Bridges to Life Walk. Festivities included a 5-mile walk, live music, food and entertainment.

APRIL 17: Literacy Services of Indian River County celebrated its 40th anniversary with a Glitzy Cabaret of the ’40s at the Orchid Island Beach Club.

Guests enjoyed the Latin-inspired décor and music as they arrived at the Children Home Society’s annual fundraiser Tumba La Casa at Rock City Gardens.

APRIL 14: 150 members of the Treasure Coast Council of the Navy League of the U.S. gathered at a special engagement to hear guest speaker Vice Admiral Alan Thompson, director of the Defense Logistics Agency.

APRIL 22 & 23: Orchids were in bloom Easter weekend at the Vero Beach Orchid Society’s Orchids in the Oaks at Riverside Park.

The Gifford Youth Activity Center held its annual Dan K. Richardson Humanitarian Banquet, which recognizes local individuals for their humanitarian efforts, at the Richardson Center on the Indian River State College Mueller campus.

APRIL 8: Cancer survivors and supporters took part in the American Cancer Society event Relay for Life of the Beaches at Riverside Park.

APRIL 30: Vero Beach native and celebrity chef Andrea Curto-Randazzo donated her culinary talents at Dining Under the Stars at the Dasie Hope Center. Andrea prepared a three-course dinner and wine selections for the event. APRIL 30: Saint Edward’s School held its annual fundraising gala, The Magic of One, at The Moorings Club.

APRIL 19: 44 bridge players gathered at Sea Oaks Beach Club for the 5th annual Duplicate Bridge Tournament and Luncheon, which raised over $3,000 to benefit the Women’s Refuge of Vero Beach.

APRIL 8: Over 160 people attended the Salvation Army of IRC’s Annual Benefit Dinner at Oak Harbor Clubhouse featuring keynote speaker John Walsh of America’s Most Wanted.

March 13: The Laura Riding Jackson Foundation presented acclaimed virtuoso pianist and raconteur Dr. Jeffrey Hollander in an afternoon salon concert of music and storytelling on an heirloom Steinway.

March 6: Families and individuals spent the day celebrating the Environmental Learning Center’s 15th annual Ecofest: Feathers & Fins.

February 12: 103 runners came out for the Literacy Services of Indian River County’s 5th annual 5K Race/Walk for Love of Literacy at Pointe West.

March 25-26: Over 600 participants took part in the American Cancer Society event Relay For Life Of Indian River at the Vero Beach High School Citrus Bowl.
