Space Coast Symphony Orchestra and a professional cast from Central Florida Vocal Arts will present Stephen Sondheim’s “gem in two acts,” A Little Night Music, on August 27, at Vero Beach High School Performing Arts Center (1707 16th Street) at 3 p.m.
Fresh off performances in Orlando and complete with costuming and digital sets, the audience can expect a rich musical experience and an expanded orchestra. Set in the enchanted birch groves of Sweden, the Sondheim classic waltzes its way through the lives of mismatched couples who make some very surprising discoveries about their true desires. The couples come together for “A Weekend in the Country,” where anything can happen to the very young, the very foolish, and the very old. Sondheim’s witty masterpiece features the iconic song “Send in the Clowns.”
Tickets are $30 before the show and are available on the Space Coast Symphony Orchestra website, or at the Marine Bank & Trust beachside and mainland branches. Tickets at the door are $35. Passes for the entire 2023-2024 performing season are available, as well as ticket “flex packs,” good for any five subscription concerts. Concertgoers aged 18 and younger, or with a college ID, are admitted free to every concert.
