Indian River County Conservation and Recreation staff recently kicked off the 2022 Go Explore IRC Hiking Challenge on December 1 with a Sneak Peek hike at the Jones’ Pier Conservation Area in Vero Beach.

The Hiking Challenge is presented by Indian River County Parks and Recreation Division with the Conservation Lands Program, and features the OuterSpatial App, a free app that showcases all of Indian River County’s Conservation Lands. Hikers may complete the challenge on their own or attend scheduled hikes at Indian River County Conservation areas accompanied by Indian River County Recreation and Conservation staff through January. The first 100 hikers to complete the challenge will win limited-edition inaugural t-shirts. Each participant can complete the challenge by logging onto the OuterSpatial app to earn their hiking challenge credit.

OuterSpatial makes getting outside easy by putting information about local destinations including maps, photos, brochures, events, and articles right in the palm of your hand.  Download the free app on your Google or Apple device. For assistance registering for any of the guided hikes or the challenge, email Michelle Stromberg at mstromberg@ircgov.com or call (772) 226-1772.
