The twelfth annual Sawbones vs. Jawbones Charity Softball Tournament is back!
Local physicians and attorneys will show off their skills and compete for this year’s trophy at 7 p.m. on May 19, at Holman Stadium at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. The annual tournament supports the United Way of Indian River County’s mission to improve lives and create lasting change.
Presenting sponsor, Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital, will welcomes the public to bring their friends, family, and team spirit to the tournament. Guests will snack on goodies from the newly renovated concession stands. The event is free, but a donation of $5 per vehicle is encouraged to support the United Way.
Last year’s charity softball tournament raised nearly $8,000 for the programs and services supported by United Way. An opening ceremony with the second annual Vero Beach Little League United Way Cup will be held at 6 p.m. ahead of the main event.
