Last week, McKee Botanical Garden hosted the first Twilight at McKee, a new weekly event hosted on Thursday evenings in July (July 17, 24, and 31). Visitors are invited to walk the garden’s historic paths, relax on the Garden Cafe Terrace, savor a Wild Waldo Burger, and enjoy live music from local musicians.
The Wild Waldo Burger debuted at this year’s Burgers & Brews and is comprised of an all-beef brisket patty, gruyère, the Garden Cafe’s signature pineapple coleslaw, applewood-smoked bacon, barbecue sauce, and tobacco-fried jalapeno slices.
Local singer-songwriter Kat Woods will lend her talents to the evenings, accompanied by Jay Hansen on cajon percussion for a vibrant and engaging set each Thursday evening. On July 31, acoustic duo Charise Courtney on vocals and upright bass and Andrew Ramjiawan on acoustic guitar will play a mix of easy listening favorites.
Admission is free for members, $20 for adults, and $15 for children. Join a complimentary tour at 5:15 pm. The last garden entry is 6:15 p.m.
