“Picasso and the Progressive Proof”

September 13–January 4, 2026

This exhibition of linocut prints from a private collection, organized by the Townsend Art Advisory, will be displayed in Vero Beach Museum of Art‘s Stark Gallery. This show explores the techniques and themes of the printmaking work of Picasso’s later years through three key pieces and their various proofs: Portrait of a Young Woman after Cranach the Younger II, Pique II, and Bacchanal with Kid Goat and Onlooker.

“Recent Acquisition Highlights”

Vero Beach Museum of Art‘s Caitlin Swindell has curated an exhibition showcasing the depth of the museum’s permanent collection with paintings, sculptures, photographs, and more representing a variety of time periods and media. For example, early American works such as Regis Gignoux’s 1862 Dock Scene, Brooklyn, New York and Joseph Stella’s 1917 Swans (Night) will be juxtaposed with contemporary pieces by Till Freiwald, Anne Noggle, and others.

“Sailing on a Summer Wind”

Through September 30

J.M. Stringer Gallery of Fine Art is actually closed for summer vacation this month, but the art never stops! The exhibition “Sailing on a Summer Wind” is viewable on the gallery’s website; and, for the breathtaking paintings of Patrick O’Brien, you may even want to take advantage of the “view by appointment” option. This Maryland resident creates meticulously accurate images of historical ships.
