
The Vero Beach Museum of Art will welcome members and guests for spring Art Talk programs, inviting them to deepen their appreciation of the exhibitions “American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection” and “Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture.” Taking place at noon on the third Wednesday of each month, Art Talk focuses on select artworks from special exhibitions and the permanent collection:
On May 20, join for “Visions in the Making,” then “Sense of Place” June 17. Registered participants meet docents at visitor services before heading to the galleries for 45-60 minutes of careful looking and discussion. Art Talk is free for members and $12 for non-members, which includes museum admission. Register for Art Talks here.
“American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection”
“American Made: Paintings and Sculpture from the DeMell Jacobsen Collection” is on view through June 7. The touring exhibition traces the arc of American art from the colonial era to the present day, and includes more than 80 works by Benjamin West, Sarah Miriam Peale, Edward Moran, John Singer Sargent, Mary Cassatt, Robert Henri, and Charles Alston.
“Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture”
“Construction: from Abstraction to Architecture” examines the role of construction in modern and contemporary art, tracing its influence from early 20th-century geometric abstraction to representations of built environments and facades. The exhibition is on view to July 12.
