The Senior Resource Association will welcome Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated actress, comedian, and singer Vicki Lawrence for its annual Living Joyfully: A Luncheon Benefiting Senior Resource Association at the Quail Valley River Club in Vero Beach February 23.
Lawrence is known for the many characters she originated on CBS’s The Carol Burnett Show from 1967 to 1978. Her Thelma Harper/Mama was the central character of the popular television sitcom Mama’s Family. Lawrence has made appearances on Laverne & Shirley, Major Dad, Roseanne, Hannah Montana, and Yes, Dear. Lawrence has also appeared with Carol Burnett, Harvey Korman, and Tim Conway in The Carol Burnett Show retrospectives. On stage, she has appeared in Carousel; Send Me No Flowers; No, No, Nanette; Chapter Two; Hello Dolly; Annie Get Your Gun; and Live from the Grand Ole Opry.
Today, Lawrence travels with her stage production Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two Woman Show. She also speaks to women’s organizations and philanthropies, where she shares her story of fame, activism, and her continuing success.
