A local public school student is being heaped with praise for his efforts to help preserve the environment. A seventh-grade student at Gifford Middle School, George J. Katilus IV was responsible for organizing an initiative to help restore oyster reefs in the Mosquito Lagoon as his Science Initiative Project (SIP) for honors science class.
