Welcome aboard. Quail Valley’s private restaurant and boutique hotel at the end of Royal Palm Pointe is, as one member exclaimed as she stood at the railing and gazed out over the Indian River Lagoon, “just like being on a cruise ship.” 

And what a ship it is. Not only does Quail’s newest member-guest venue pay homage to its waterfront location with first-class architectural and design details, it evokes a sense of permanence. To top it off, Club Owner Steve Mulvey and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Given have added smile-prompting personal touches. Where else can you find bar and dining areas named for a St. Bernard called Humphrey or a chocolate Lab that answers to the name of Ruby? Where else can you stay in a hotel suite that comes with a panoramic view of a lagoon? Where else can you hop on board a launch christened the Irish Rover and skim over the water to Quail’s River Club on A1A?

While earlier articles written about The Pointe, with its New York-fieldstone and river-rock exterior, have zeroed in on the size – 47,356 square feet – and made mention of significant underpinnings – 447 pilings sunken 50 feet deep, 300 tons of rebar enforcement, 6,200 cubic yards of concrete – the heart of the story is best told by the individuals who breathed life into the three-story structure.
