A Harp For All Occasions

"We harpists have such a love of the sound of the instrument, and yet it is so difficult to master," says Sharon (“Sherry”) Watson, an accomplished musician and master harpist who moved to Vero Beach last November.

"I think if I believed in reincarnation, it would take me three lifetimes to master the harp," she says with a warm smile. "I think I can master the piano in a lifetime, or a flute, or whatever. But this thing! It has seven pedals, and the sharps and flats are in different positions and backwards from the piano."

Sherry may think she has yet to master the harp, but listening to her play, and reading her resumé, there is no doubt she is already a master harpist. A prolific arranger, musician and educator, she has written innumerable arrangements for harp, violin, cello and flute.
