The Indian River Symphonic Association kicks off its 2018 season with Pinchas Zukerman, conductor and violinist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
“If you’re not going to be visiting London in the coming months, then you’re in luck, because London is coming to you,” says John Crosby, his smile stretching from ear to ear.
As president of the Indian River Symphonic Association he has every reason to be excited. The nonprofit organization is celebrating its 25th anniversary in style with a star-studded 2018 schedule that kicks off this month with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Pinchas Zukerman. Yes, the Pinchas Zukerman, world-renown violinist who has performed in concert halls from China to Australia to New York.
The British will be back in fine form two months later with virtuoso violinist Joshua Bell conducting the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields chamber orchestra. An audience favorite, Bell will have performed in New York City’s Lincoln Center four days earlier. In addition, the Symphonic Association will take us on an expanded journey around the world with first-time performances by the Heisingborg Symphony Orchestra from Sweden and Germany’s Staatskapelle Weimar Orchestra.
