Adler’s Alchemy

On Feb. 27, well-known American potter, designer and author Jonathan Adler will take center stage at the Vero Beach Museum of Art, where he will share his love of bright, cheery patterns and accessorizing with abandon.

One of the first things Karen Loeffler did after arriving in Vero Beach was to get involved with the Vero Beach Museum of Art. No surprise there, as the Treasure Coast’s largest cultural arts center was one of the main reasons she and her artist husband, Ed Cortez, chose to live here.

It didn’t take long before Loeffler, a former marketing and public relations fashion director from Long Island, signed on to co-chair last year’s inaugural “Fashion Meets Art” fundraiser with Melinda Cooper of Cooper & Co.

The sold-out event, which benefitted educational programs and attracted new members, was such a success that a second “Fashion Meets Art” is scheduled to take place Feb. 27, with well-known American potter, designer and author Jonathan Adler taking center stage.

Loeffler and Cooper couldn’t have made a better choice. Adler is a sought-after speaker at design industry events and design-centric museums. He has also appeared as a guest on a number of national programs, including “Good Morning America” and “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” where he shared his love of bright, cheery patterns by creating a foundation of timelessly chic furniture and accessorizing with abandon.
