Loose ends. That’s where I was 15 years ago. When my husband and I moved to Vero Beach we were excited about starting a new chapter in our lives. No more marching to the drumbeat of a corporate structure and schedule – we could sleep in, walk the beach, take an art course. Each day held a fresh promise and the opportunities were endless.
It didn’t take long before we became restless, so I shouldn’t have been surprised when one morning my husband, hammer in hand, headed for the Habitat worksite with a big grin on his face.
So what about me? After a rewarding career as a journalist and public relations officer for a financial institution I needed to find something meaningful to do. I often think back to the morning when on impulse I opened the Press Journal, turned to the want ad section and spied one that literally winked at me: New publication seeking experienced writers; send samples of published material, etc., etc.
