Do You Know The Way to Felix’s Place?

Felix Fajardo spent 20 minutes outside a storefront on 43rd Avenue in Vero Beach debating whether to go in or forget it. The eatery, which most recently had featured chicken wings and pizza, had all the charm of the gas pumps that fronted it.

But the price was right and he thought he might as well check it out as long as he was there. When he opened the front door, the sight was not much better.

Yet the young man, a hardworking native of Cuba, saw the possibilities and knew he could do all of the interior repairs and renovations himself. And he did just that, transforming the place into a cozy bistro featuring authentic Cuban cuisine and his own original dishes with a Spanish flair. It is Felix’s Place, located at 40 43rd Avenue.
