Sporting vacations have played an important role in Nicky Szapary’s life. Ten years ago, on the ski slopes of the French Alps, he met a tall, beautiful girl from Argentina named Stephanie Auersperg-Breunner. They were instantly attracted and married a year later.    

Then, in 1994, shortly after the birth of his second son, Louis – he now has three – Szapary was on a hunting trip in Hungary with his cousin, Count Riprand Arco. There, Arco introduced him to a Canadian named Galen Weston, who had heard of Szapary’s reputation as an Olympic shot and was anxious to meet him.

Weston explained that he was the developer of Windsor, a new, upscale community in Vero Beach, Florida, and was anxious to start a shooting club.
