Carmen, La Boheme and Madame Butterfly are world-famous operas and familiar favorites of area audiences thanks to members of the Vero Beach Opera Guild. Familiar favorites too are performers such Metropolitan Opera star Deborah Voigt, who wowed a sold-out audience in February with her Love Concert, and is scheduled to return this coming season. From a fully staged grand opera production to internationally known performers, the Opera Guild has given our community many truly treasured musical moments.
The non-profit organization has come a long way from when it was formed 16 years ago by a handful of enthusiastic opera lovers intent on sharing their passion. With pianist Eloise Rodger, the Guild’s founder and President Emeritus leading the way, vocally talented members presented their first operatic concert in 1988.
