This December, a lucky group of Windsor residents will have home-baked Christmas cookies nestled in shiny red tin boxes delivered to their doorsteps.

The Christmas elf in charge of this confectionery caper is Windsor homeowner Mickey Stein. She and her mother, Gerry McLaughlin, bake and artfully decorate around 6,000 cookies beginning the day after Thanksgiving until early December.

Later, they are joined by Mickey’s sister and a cadre of friends who gently pack the cookies in special Christmas tins.
