Growing Bromeliads Is Easy – And Fun

When you see bromeliads for sale in local stores they are usually in bloom, and what interesting blooms they are! Often, they’re so exotic they look like they might be artificial, but Mother Nature is far more artistic than any plastic factory. When you purchase one in bloom, the flower may last for six months or more. Blooming is the end of the life cycle for a bromeliad, but it may live for another year or two. Normally, a plant that has flowered will produce offshoots or pups. When the pups are about half the size of the mother, cut the pups away with a sharp knife as close to the mother plant as possible and plant them in a container or strap them to a tree. Bromeliads are easy to grow.
