Laura and Rick McDermott will soon be saying goodbye to the house they have lived, loved and laughed in for more than 15 years. With their four children now grown, the empty nesters plan to downsize while remaining in the community they fell in love with 34 years ago.
It’s been fifteen years since Laura and Rick McDermott moved into the two-story house with breathtaking views of the Indian River. The spacious John’s Island residence has been a perfect fit for the family of six who have loved, laughed and celebrated birthdays here. Their smiling faces, captured by the camera can be seen clustered on shelves and tabletops. Rick’s long held passion for the game of golf is evident in the first floor powder room where autographed photographs of his favorite golf courses, including Augusta, home of the U.S. Masters, cover the walls along with a framed collection of golf balls from many of the courses he’s played.
