Habitat for Humanity Race Benefits Education

April 7:  Habitat for Humanity’s 5th annual Race to Benefit Education celebrated 268 racers crossing the finish line in the 3.1-mile South Beach course. Overall race winner was Mike Kodya, female overall winner was Bridget Bachman, male masters winner was Rich Papero and female masters winner was Mindy Struwas. Andrew Houle, age 5, won the 1-mile Bunny Hop race.

The event raised more than $9,000 to support the Indian River Habitat for Humanity Scholarship/Education Program, which provides funds for scholarships for higher education, after-school programs, homework support, college tours and summer camps.
