Building A Better Tomorrow

Helen and Dick Post were chosen to receive the 2003 Individual Philanthropists of the Year award given by the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. They were nominated by IRHF Executive Director Jan Donlan in recognition of the many contributions they made to the hospital over the years. They are pictured in Riverside Park, where the “Pops in Paradise” benefit has been held since its inception in 2001.

 Helen Post is a firm believer that certain things happen because they were meant to be. It’s her way of explaining how she and her husband Dick have always found themselves helping to build better tomorrows no matter where they’ve lived. Fortunately for us they’ve chosen to make Vero Beach their home.

When the couple decided to leave Stuart and move to Vero Beach they had no idea what the future held, let alone the impact their desire to help others would have on the community. They only knew that they liked the small town atmosphere, the friendly people, and that, in time, they would become involved and find their niche.

It didn’t take long. Helen had an idea that led her to Indian River Memorial Hospital. That was 15 years ago and since then all of us have benefited in one way or another because of the Post’s passion, leadership and generosity in their commitment to the hospital.
