The G.R.O.W. child development program provides quality care to little ones six weeks to five years of age at the on-site licensed child center. While parents are furthering their own education, their children are learning as well. As class coordinator Wanda Reason explains, “We read to them, teach them their ABCs and how to spell their names, and we work on fine motor skills.”

It’s a typical morning at the G.R.O.W. Business Center as Jacqueline Reason responds to an applicant’s question, answers the phone and hands paperwork to a new arrival, all the while keeping an anxious eye on a technician she hopes can work miracles with her dark and silent computer.

As founder and executive director of a non-profit employment and business center that provides a foundation for career success by facilitating occupational training programs – and by collaborating with colleges and universities for more advanced training – Jacqueline is used to multi-tasking in order to help others achieve their educational goals. Her vision is to see them graduate with diplomas, certificates and in some cases degrees, in studies ranging from bookkeeping to information technology.

Since G.R.O.W. (Giving Rewarding Opportunities to Work) was founded nine years ago, resources have been streamlined to focus on providing supportive services, preparatory classes and career training. Once an individual’s achievable plan has been developed, appropriate training options are found through the Internet.
