The Indian River Memorial Hospital Auxiliary celebrated its 50 year anniversary this March. Begun by nurse and hospital founder Mrs. Garnett Radin, the original group of women had to get their husband’s permission to join. The Auxiliary in recent years elected its first male president and today includes over 600 volunteers: women, men, couples and teenagers. Over the years, Auxiliary members have served more than two million hours and have raised almost $3 million to benefit the hospital and its patients.
