Finally, it’s here – the news we have all been waiting for. Chocolate is good for you! Even the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine says so. Well, actually it doesn’t go quite that far, but way back in November 2000 the NEJM Heart Watch Newsletter published an article on how cocoa compounds have a beneficial effect on heart disease.

More recently, the University of California at Berkeley made public the results of a study which found that chocolate is a great source of cell-protecting antioxidants. Chocolate has joined the ranks of red wine, tea, fruits and vegetables as a repository of health-promoting chemicals.
