It was a couple of years since Olivia Kundrot had been in Fellsmere and she was surprised to see so many changes. The one that really caught her eye was a sign alongside County Road 512 that simply said “Operation Hope.” Curious, she asked her husband to pull into the driveway so she could see what was going on inside the building she remembered as a flea market.

“I had some household goods I wanted to donate, so I went in to see if they would take them,” Olivia explains. “I asked the lady there what Operation Hope was all about and she told me; she also said they were looking for volunteers so I started helping students in the after-school program. I’ve been there ever since, doing whatever’s necessary.”
