Unlike the show at McKee Botanical Garden (page 83), which focuses on the talents of one great glass maker, the two exhibitions running together at the Vero Beach Museum of Art will display works from two distinct periods.

“Glass from the Ancient World,” as the title implies, looks back to a distant time when glass was a wondrous product, made by artisans who developed the craft 20 centuries ago. In contrast, “Contemporary Reflections” looks at our own time, where glass is a wondrous, expensive art form made by artists whose basic craft has changed little through the ages. Sponsored by museum patrons Mr. and Mrs. Edward  A. Michael, both shows will be on display in the Holmes Gallery from October 11 through December 28.
