Minivan was one of George Kahle’s polo ponies. She came to Vero Beach from Montana and led an exciting life playing the sport of kings for three years. Time catches up with us all, including “Mini,” and it was time for retirement.

Instead of being put out to pasture, as boring for horses as it is for humans, George had a better idea for this special horse. Several years ago, he had given a horse named Fancy to the Special Equestrians of the Treasure Coast. Since these horses work with physically and mentally challenged individuals, they must have the right temperament. There was no doubt in George’s mind that Mini would enjoy retirement, stay useful, be well fed, well cared-for and well loved as part of the Special Equestrians.
