Tiger Lily: Back with A Roar

It all started 16 years ago when Sharon Sexton and Glenda Taylor rented a small commercial space as an art studio. Little did they know that their alliance, which began out of economic necessity, would grow into a seven-woman force to be reckoned with on the local art scene. Who in Vero Beach has not heard of Tiger Lily Art Studios & Gallery, or visited one of the spaces it has called home over the years? Who wasn’t disappointed when the storms of 2004 forced the group’s dispersal, and who wasn’t there when the artists inaugurated their new digs at 1903 14th Avenue last December?

The women of Tiger Lily, seasoned by adversity and stronger in number, are back. They are Julia Carter (paintings), Chris Adams Johnson (sculpture), Shotsi LaJoie (sculpture), Jill Pease (paintings), Linda Proctor (photography), Sharon Sexton (oil paintings and ceramic murals) and Glenda Taylor (ceramics).
