At 12, Tom Ingui became an organ accompanist at Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach.

If you were to sit in on a choir rehearsal at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sebastian with your eyes closed, chances are you would never dream the choir director had just celebrated his 14th birthday.

Tom Ingui has more musical experience under his belt than most university music majors. He possesses an unusual blend of seasoned professional and innocent teenager, and his sense of humor is keen.

Sitting down to speak with Tom and his parents, Bill and Dr. Mary Ingui of Sebastian, it is immediately apparent how he acquired this particular mix. The family is supportive and tight, and quick to make jokes. As the time progresses, so does the laughter level.

Tom was born in Oceanside, Long Island, “in the same hospital where I was born,” says Mary. “Ironically, of course! I did not plan it that way.”
