Peter Jones Will Preside Over Florida Architects’ 100th Anniversary

Local architect Peter Jones has been elected president of the Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects. He has served as vice president, secretary/treasurer and president-elect since joining the AIA Florida board of directors in 2005.

Peter has more than 20 years of architectural, planning and urban design experience, including overseeing architecture operations, client management and business development aspects of the architectural profession. Currently, he teaches architecture classes at Indian River Charter High School, which helps students understand basic design principles and career choices available in the design and architecture field.
“I am proud to serve as president of AIA Florida as we commemorate our 100th anniversary in 2012,” Peter says. “Architecture plays an important role in our everyday lives and I look forward to celebrating the profession as we build on the past to shape the future.”

The Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects is headquartered in Tallahassee and has more than 3,200 members in Florida and the Caribbean.
