The 21st Century Campaign for Indian River Medical Center received a $1 million gift from philanthropists Lorne and Heidi Waxlax for the hospital's new recovery room. The donation was announced at the Indian River Medical Center Foundation's Eagle Society members' gathering at The Moorings Club on December 2.
The recovery room, also referred to as a post-anesthesia care unit, is a major component of the Medical Center's master facility plan which included the Emergency Services Pavilion that opened in 2005 and The Heart Center that opened in 2006.
